Hello!! I’m Natalia Vilca and I’m glad to be a student at the Profesorado de Ingles (I.F.D.C. nº 10).

I would like to tell you a little about myself. I love reading and writing, from short texts to long stories, I love to swim in the summer, and cook and bake for my family whenever I have time. My favourite academic subject is language , probably because I like reading about real people and everything. But I have to say that my real passion is phonetics.

I am happier when I can spend time with my friends . No matter how busy I am, I always have time for my boyfriend, although he is not here most of the time I call him as often as I can.

I` m very excited about this blog and I hope you enjoy reading my work. I`d love to get your feedback on how to improve my work.If you have any questions or suggestions just reply to my e-mail.

THANK YOU!!!!

USING E-MAILS:ISSUES

- Your learners don’t have email accounts.
In that case the teacher has to help the students to open an email account. First of all, you can find out how much they know concerning to the internet by making them some questions, in order to explain what to do next as to get one.

b- Your learners don’t know how to send or open email attachments.
The teacher has to help the students out of class  with basic steps like opening or sending messages.
Then open yours and send one of your students some info so as to describe the only way to send and open email attachments.

c-   Your learners use abbreviations such as CU (´see you´) or the lower case i in all their emails.
Explain students that the language they use when chatting is no aceptable for writing an email.

d- You would like to provide your learners with a weekly emailed summary of classwork covered, but have not time to do so.
One way to make a summary every week is to send them a page where they can find plenty of information about the topic to be developed. Not only this, but also the importance to let them know they can count on you if something is misunderstood. Then, they will have just to send you an email with some questions to be answered.

e- Your learners are reluctant to do the extra work that belonging to a class email discussion list involves, and do not contribute much.
Focus is provided by having clear tasks for each email as in the outline above. Don`t expect learners to simply write an email . dont give learners  to simply write an email  to a stranger without any guidance as to contento r language.

f-    In a keypal project, your learners don’t know what to write to their partner in another country.
Explain your students that this kind of Project is very important for both th eones you have and the ones from other country. Encourage them.

g-   Your learners are upset by emails received from the partner country, as they find them “rude” or “aggressive”.
Explain students that missunderestanding can and do arise in email Communications, especially when a second language is being used between  two different  cultural groups  so it is worth making your students aware of the dangers.
